Towards the end of 2022, Gartner set out its IT spending predictions for the coming year with an expectation of 5% growth. Yet closer examination of the data suggests that instead of enterprise IT spending being “recession-proof”, as EU wide inflation tops 11%, this limited growth prediction seems less impressive. A further interpretation suggests that the heavy lift for IT growth is carried largely by services and software.
