ConnectWise pushes new Asio enhancements as general availability slated for Q2

At IT Nation Connect Europe 2025, ConnectWise introduced a series of updates to its Asio platform, focusing on enhancing security, automation, and operational efficiency, while moving its new launch date to Q2 of 2025.

In front of around 600 partners attending its European event in London this week, ConnectWise announced that Security360 and Backup360 will now be included at no additional cost within the Asio platform.

"The Asio platform is about simplifying complexity and creating a centralised approach to managing security and backup services," stated Jeff Bishop, EVP & GM of Product Management and Asio Platform at ConnectWise (pictured). "By including Security360 and Backup360, we’re not only reducing costs but also making it easier for MSPs to deliver efficient, scalable services."

During his keynote, Bishop highlighted the importance of integrating solutions into a unified platform. "We recognised that managing multiple products with separate data and authentication systems was becoming unsustainable," he said. "Asio was designed to centralise data, create shared services, and enable AI to operate across all aspects of the platform, enhancing automation and overall efficiency."

Bishop also emphasised the scalability of the platform, noting, "By reducing the need for MSPs to navigate between numerous tools, Asio allows teams to focus more on delivering value to their customers. It's about simplifying processes and increasing operational capacity."

Security360 integrates with multiple cybersecurity solutions, including Microsoft Defender, SentinelOne, and Sophos. Backup360, integrated with Axcient x360Recover, is designed to enhance business continuity by improving data protection options.

ConnectWise also announced enhancements to its remote monitoring and management (RMM) and robotic process automation (RPA) tools. The updates include automated patching processes and expanded alerting and workflow options.

The RMM updates focus on automating patch management for security updates, with an expanded library covering more third-party applications. The RPA improvements include pre-built workflows, such as the Onboarding Digital Worker, which aims to reduce time spent on account creation tasks.

ConnectWise also introduced its SaaS Security platform, developed to support MSPs managing Microsoft 365 security services. The platform offers monitoring, reporting, and automated remediation features.

"Asio’s approach to SaaS Security is about empowering MSPs with actionable insights and simplifying the process of securing Microsoft 365 environments," Bishop stated. "By centralising security data and automating processes, we help MSPs manage risks more effectively and streamline operations."

The platform includes Security Manager for threat detection and automated responses, and Security Navigator for reporting and insights. Early user feedback highlighted its ease of deployment and the consolidation of security insights into a single console.

Despite ConnectWise's extensive global network of over 10,000 partners, the adoption of the Asio platform remains gradual, with 6,931 partners currently onboarded. The platform's general availability has been rescheduled for the second quarter of 2025, as ConnectWise continues to refine and expand its capabilities.
