Open source specialist SUSE is extending its partner software certification for cloud and storage customers. The “SUSE Ready” application-certification programme will include SUSE OpenStack Cloud and SUSE Enterprise Storage, allowing a build out of software-defined data centres using solutions “without vendor lock-in”.
The SUSE Ready programme allows partners to self-certify their software without being tied to test criteria that may not be relevant to their solutions. The idea is that customers can consider thousands of partner solutions and verify that they are mutually tested and supported on SUSE software before building out their software-defined infrastructures.
SUSE is targeting the software-defined storage market by acquiring openATTIC storage management Assets from it-novum- its first technology acquisition
