Lenovo works with Nimble flash storage on self-healing converged system

First in a series of offerings

Lenovo Flash-based storage and converged infrastructure solutions are to be powered by Nimble in a move to collaborate in the channel. Lenovo and Nimble aim to allow the use of predictive analytics in infrastructure management to automate service activities.

Dan Leary VP, Corporate Development, Solutions and Alliances at Nimble Storage tells IT Europa: “The Lenovo ThinkAgile CX Series will be sold by Lenovo and their channel partners. This is an opportunity for Lenovo partners to increase revenue opportunities with the addition of a converged infrastructure solution powered by Nimble Storage. This is a unique offering because it is the first time Lenovo has brought a converged infrastructure product to the market. The new CI solution in which Nimble underpins the storage is a collaboration that will lead to future technology developments and more diverse offerings for channel partners to provide their customers.”

The first offerings from the Lenovo-Nimble partnership will be available with the launch of the initial ThinkAgile CX Series solution later this year, in what is called the first wave of these offerings.

Lenovo plans to integrate its XClarity infrastructure management software with Nimble InfoSight which leverages predictive analytics to automate the support experience. The two companies will work together in creating “self-healing” system management capabilities across the entire data centre infrastructure, including storage, compute, and networking. Leveraging the power of predictive analytics, the alliance aims to increase data centre resiliency through early problem identification and automated intervention across the infrastructure stack.
