Formula One team races into cloud for financial compliance

Formula One team Oracle Red Bull Racing is moving its finance and HR processes to the cloud, to increase efficiency and support cost cap compliance in the sport.

The racing team is deploying finance and HR software services from the Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications Suite, after previously adopting the customer experience service to enhance fan engagement.

The Fusion expansion has seen Oracle Red Bull Racing replace a manual spreadsheet-based financial planning process, and gain a single view into its business data.

The team is an established user of Oracle Cloud and AI technologies to glean racing insights on the track.

“With a fixed annual cost cap that we can’t exceed, we need to make every resource go further and manage our operations as efficiently as possible,” said Matt Cadieux, chief information officer for Oracle Red Bull Racing. “With Oracle Fusion Applications, we can take advantage of the cloud and the latest advancements in predictive, generative, and agentic AI to optimise financial planning activities, accelerate business insights, and derive more value and performance from our operating budget.”

The implementation is being managed by Oracle Consulting and ongoing support will be provided by Oracle Customer Success Services (CSS).
