UK-based Pulsant has struck a strategic partnership with “high-assurance” managed service provider Nine23.
Pulsant’s sovereign infrastructure, with fourteen data centres across the UK, connected by a “robust, private network”, is seen as the ideal platform from which Nine23 can deliver its services to the UK government, law enforcement and defence agencies, and their highly-regulated supply chains.
“The partnership will enable Nine23 to deliver a set of solutions on a fully UK sovereign, resilient, accredited, compliant stack, spanning the physical data centre and infrastructure, all the way to service delivery,” the two companies said.
“Nine23 passionately believes that cybersecurity and resilience must be business-enabling, not a constraint. Our value lies in empowering cyber resilience across highly regulated UK markets, for which we design, build, and manage systems that are ‘secure by design’ and fully compliant with regulatory requirements for mission-critical operations,” said Steve Jewell, chief revenue officer at Nine23. “Our partnership with Pulsant ensures the sovereignty, resilience and assurance of the physical hosting and network connectivity our services rely on.”
Wendy Shearer (pictured), director of partners and ecosystems for Pulsant, added: “Nine23 is a fantastic addition to our diverse partner ecosystem, bringing unparalleled expertise in the high assurance space. I’m confident that their products and solutions will be of value not just to its clients in the defence, UK-governed and regulated markets, but to other partners in our ecosystem. We see huge growth in demand for sovereign infrastructure.”
In another expansion move, Data4, the pan-European data centre services player, announced an “exceptional recruitment campaign” to support its “strong growth”.
In 2024, Data4 increased its workforce by 30%, a figure that is expected to more than double, reaching a 66% increase in the workforce in 2025. Although two-thirds of the new positions are to be filled in France, its main data centre hub, opportunities are also available in other countries where the group operates, including Italy, Spain, Poland, Germany, and Greece, said Data4.
“The data centre sector is undergoing a major transformation, which requires strengthening our teams to scale up. Among the open positions at Data4, three rapidly growing departments stand out for the diversity of their profiles and areas of expertise: operations, construction and finance,” said Marion Enjolras, chief human resources officer at Data4 Group.
