Phoenix Software staff will raise funds for St Leonard’s Hospice in York through its “Race for a Reason” challenge, a 3-day charity event taking place across Benelux from 6th- 9th July.
Inspired by BBC TV show, Race Across the World, Phoenix “Race for a Reason” will see 30 Phoenix employees (split into 10 teams of 3), race across the Benelux region.
Each team is responsible for their own fundraising and so far £6,100 has been raised, beating the origional £5,000 target.
During the event, teams will compete to reach as many of the 16 checkpoints as possible scattered across Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg. Teams will earn points based on the difficulty of each location with points converted into a time advantage at the finish line.
Three winning spots will be up for grabs for the team to finish fastest, the team that raises the most funds for St Leonard’s Hospice and the team with the highest social engagements.
Clare Metcalfe, MD at Phoenix, said: “Teams have already started fundraising passionately and getting ready for the mission in July. We are looking forward to seeing who wins and how much money we raise for St Leonard’s Hospice and the vital work they do.”
