DocuWare unveils AI development hub for its worldwide partners

DocuWare has opened its DocuWare AI Hub in Germany for its worldwide partners.

The dedicated research and development hub will play a “crucial role” in the company’s development of proprietary AI solutions for intelligent document processing and enterprise content management, based on ethical and data privacy standards, and supporting regulations such as the EU AI Act 2025.

“With the opening, DocuWare maintains its foothold as an AI leader, driving product innovation, and empowering our global network of over 800 partners and their customers,” said the firm.

The dedicated team of experts behind the DocuWare AI Hub will “drive innovation faster and deliver speedier product updates”. The team will focus on:

-Building proprietary foundational AI models, with a focus on smaller, specialised LLMs for agentic AI

-Continuously enhancing OCR technology and adapting it to GenAI applications

-Developing AI solutions that make various file formats understandable and actionable for LLMs within the DocuWare system

-Advancing DocuWare IDP, a key product that will significantly benefit from GenAI capabilities

-Developing intelligent assistants and agentic automation solutions

Michael Berger, CEO of DocuWare, said: “The future belongs to applied AI, as it enables an entirely new user experience and unlocks additional use-cases and automation potential in enterprise content management.

“With the acquisition of natif.ai, we secured deep AI expertise at an early stage. The DocuWare AI Hub now unites all our AI knowledge, allowing us to realise innovative technologies and build great products and solutions even faster. This approach not only strengthens our market leadership in cloud ECM, but will also ensure us a leading position in the field of AI.”
