AppLearn acquires Slovakia rival to boost app services capacity

Manchester, UK-headquartered AppLearn has acquired fellow app development company YesElf in Slovakia, to greatly scale its capacity for its international customers.

Both firms are what are described as digital adoption platform (DAP) providers. AppLearn will take ownership of YesElf’s existing platform, which focuses on AI- and machine learning-powered user experience capabilities.

It will enable AppLearn to “triple” its development capacity and improve its DAP for its global client base, with customers in over 100 countries. As part of the move, AppLearn will take onboard the existing YesElf Bratislava office, extending its reach in Central Europe, and joining its Boston, San Francisco and Manchester offices.

“This is another major step in our journey and I welcome the YesElf team to the AppLearn family,” said AppLearn CEO Andrew Avanessian. “Their experience and technology, especially in end user capabilities, is light years ahead of many competitors. Combined with our strengths in data and analytics, we have a powerful product on our hands.”

The deal, for an undisclosed sum, follows AppLearn’s recent “8-digit funding” from Silicon Valley Bank and NPIF – Maven Equity Finance, managed by Maven Capital Partners, and part of the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund. The funding will see AppLearn create up to 60 new roles within its north-west team, accelerate growth in the North American market and enter new countries, including South Africa.
